War Theory On Iraq After the invasion on Iraq in 2003 , the question that emerged was is the war on Iraq a just war ? Many theories are emerging giving Justification of the War on Iraq . Supporters of the War are tending to accept the US position , according to the United Nations arrangements Diplomats from both sides are framing their arguments to espouse their own version of Just War . No doubt , no body is in favor of war , as it involves causalities and complete economic set back , but the war is thrust on

Just war Theory is a theory to justify the War according to a particular situation or scenario and according to the states doctrine , tradition or historical commentary . The tradition of propounding the Just War Theory goes to the ancient Greek society , and was later developed by various Christian theologians and various thinkers who are conceptualizing the different ways for employing shared concepts to justify war , i .e . wars to justify good cause , with noble intentions etc . The theory champions the use of force by reflecting upon the world that war is ethically and morally right . While this war theory propounds the view that war is just , giving satisfactory conditions . But these conditions are open to various interpretations , and are subjected to political objectivity , making this Just War theory a controversial issue
According to critics , this theory gives a moral and ethical touch to the war and believes that sometimes war is a lesser evil . They even tries to visualize the best ways the arms might be restrained , made for human cause and are directed with a sole aim to establish peace and justice This idea that war can only be treated as just under certain conditions goes back to Cicero , Augustine of Hippo , Thomas Aquinas and Hugo Grotius who codified set of rules for a just war , which are the debating points for the thinkers of today
The just war theory gives justification to the war in two ways the appropriate situation for taking to arms (the concern of jus ad bellum and what is acceptable in using such force (the concern of jus in bello . Recently , a third category - Jus post bellum - has too been added , which governs the issues of termination of wars and agreements that can lead to peace and the trying of war criminals .
