Using Peer Tutoring to Improve Reading Comprehension Skills and Increase School Attendance of Emotionally Handicapped Students
Most important is that parent 's participation interest and satisfaction to the child 's academic performance whether from the mother or the father are essential to the child 's emotional and mental development and his or her self-esteem and perception Knowing how the parents actually affect the students ' development as individuals in terms of their educational progression , it should be understood that the support of the parents in the peer tutoring program is indeed a major concern that should be considered in the process of this research Conceptually considering , peer tutoring

is indeed a major program that is now facilitated among several learning institutions in the society that are involved in assisting students that are having emotional problems . Most often than not emotional stress or emotional disturbances among students who are to be observed in this study results from being physically or mentally ill . The mental illness may involve the concentration issues of the learners that may at some point really affect their manners of learning and educational progress . On the other hand physically ill students may be affected by their emotions because of being insecure of their situation as they stand to be much different from others . This feeling may as well hinder them from actually getting the best out of their learning activities in school institutions . This is the primary reason why there is a need in actually involving the peers of the said students is seen as an actual progressive process of increasing the competency of the emotionally handicapped students to realize their potential in learning the best lessons for themselves as primary sources of success in their future
