Since the fall of the Soviet Union , the United State has grown in strength , vigor and might as the only ruling Superpower and Eagle of the world it has increased its influence in many regions and parts of the world spanning length of Africa , breadth of Europe and the Caribbean to the Middle East through provision of relief materials during wars defense of threatened nations , peace talks aimed at maintaining peace across the world . Indeed , the influence is widespread and exudes

so much confidence and intense foundation that emerging threats thread with silence and whisper quietly to their allies

Her influence is not just related to the weapons of war but to the skills of communication , its domination of the United Nations and major relief organizations all over the world it also includes economic prowess except for recent fluctuations in the power of the dollar , which has contributed negatively to her missions . The United States has been in a safe position since the fall of the Soviet Union only that as expected , it has been threatened by an avalanche of economic , political , military and regional forces . A number of her noble programs to other countries including provision of technical expatriates , relief materials to troubled , engagement in peace talks have endeared her to the heart of many internationally . This is however not without oppositions from others who have the dream of rising to become another superpower in the nearest future

Prior to the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1991 after the Cold war , the Soviet Union and the United States stood as the two superpowers with global influence and dominance in international relations , international trade and military operations , and regional peace negotiations besides , the Soviet Union was America 's greatest threat which was predominated by communism and socialist principles . What led to the collapse ? A number of factors contributed including the interests and influence of the West via the instrument of democracy . It was during the reign of Mikhail Gorbachev that the Union collapsed his government introduced unlimited freedom of speech which paved way for demonstrations and criticism of the existing These acts of rebellion culminated in a coup d 'etat and eventual resignation of Gorbachev .
