SUBJECT : Cost survey of networking project

This is in response to the task previously assigned last October 28 2007 regarding the cost survey for networking the office laptop and desktop computers . According to the surveying results collected from pricegrabber .com , Belkin 's High-Speed Desktop Network Card (125Mbps ) is the best deal at 38 .99 for our desktop computer while

StarTech 's 2port DB9 Network Laptop Card is the best deal at 58 .12

for our laptop . These prices are lower than those surveyed from other websites for the same products . The prices for laptop network cards were generally found to be more expensive that desktop network cards . The reason behind this was found to be the use of miniaturized technology in laptop cards which made them harder to produce and therefore more expensive . Therefore , the computers is 97 .11

In addition to this survey , I was able to find that several computer models at present already have built in networking capabilities . I have a list of current desktop and laptop computer models that have this internal networking capability

It is my recommendation that we proceed with the networking project given the expected required budget
