This character 's identity was to be kept silent because of

the danger it could bring to him since he was in the middle of a highly publicized and critical news ring . His identity was promised to be kept secret , unless he otherwise gave permission for his name to be released or upon his death

Deep Throat was certainly a main character and his mysterious nature kept the movie exciting and interesting . It was obvious that this man had many secrets which demonstrated his strong connections to the White House and to President Nixon . We learn that even a president can hide valuable secrets that can and will be uncovered . Deep Throat 's identity was extremely difficult for anyone to uncover since he utilized underground garages for secret meetings to divulge information concerning the president 's controversial deals and he often used secret markings and clues to allow another to know exactly the time and place where he could be found

It 's clear that Deep Throat ' was giving away valuable information that eventually brought the president to the forefront of the movie because of his own personal thoughts on the unethical events that was taking place with government officials . He is displayed in this movie as a man of virtue and one who clearly valued his own voice in what was taking place concerning the Watergate scandal
