Introduction

The war between Spain and America that lasted from April 21st to August 13th way back in 1898 was a hall mark in the history of America because of the bizarre cause of the war . It is during this period that America rose up as a super power . This shall discuss the war and its outcomes . A conclusion shall be drawn from the discussion made herein

It all started on 15th February when a critical occurrence that saw

the birth of this war occurred , since this was when the USS Maine , an American battleship exploded in the Havana harbor . There had initially been tension between the Spanish and the American concerning the war that was there between Cuba and Spain as Cubans tried to liberate themselves from control by Spain . There was uproar when the Maine sank The president at that time , Mckinely , ed that investigations be done to establish the cause of the explosion that led to the sinking of the ship . Although it was agreed that the ship sank due to an explosion what caused the explosion was not established . This led to more investigations which came up with two hypotheses that attempt to explain this
