There is agreement that this course leans towards traditional counseling but despite this , there are common areas upon which specific overlaps can be taken with that of career counseling . Since it is within the spheres of traditional counseling , the related lessons in the field you wish to take can be easily discerned here . Likewise , it is indeed recognized that in crisis situations that you are doing , Erin , there

are really incidents where people in crisis do not entertain thoughts about their feelings . However , I think that there are also instances where situations of crisis involve heightened emotions during these times (Romano , 1990 . They have to consider the emotional aspects of the situation they are in and this would either help them out of it or immerse their selves deeper . This is where you help them wherein you have to move these people towards the former rather than the latter Likewise , more focus would really have to be placed on the instances where counseling occurs due to special circumstances

Aside from the theories , it is with much agreement with the statement of Carole that this course places an emphasis on the characteristics of the counselor that makes him /her a successful one .
