The high prevalence of the disease amongst these individuals is attributed to many factors . It is worth to note that foreign birth is not the only risk factor for tuberculosis in the United States . Other factors include AIDS and lack of access to timely medical care . Overcrowding in residential areas and lack of healthy diet are other tuberculosis risk factors
