Running Head : Coursework Literature Coursework Name Professor Subject School 1 . The ironic manifestation of men 's attitude towards women in Susan Glaspell 's play is that they wanted to find solution in an instant Because they have seen that Mrs . Wright is the only person in the house when they saw Mr . Wright 's dead body , she was already been connoted as the suspect without evidences . They already judge the woman 's actions without justifications of anything within and beyond her . Based on my interpretation , Galspell used Trifles

' as the titles of her play because this is the depiction of the two women in the story - Mrs . Hale and Mrs . Peters . These two women wanted to justify the claims of the authority against Mrs . Wright through her things because these are important to the suspect . Even if these are trifles , these are the manifestations of her actions towards or against her dead husband . Women always look at the small details while they gathered Mrs . Wright 's things for her imprisonment . Through this way of gathering things , they also gathered some possible means of evidences that might help the suspect from the authority 's claim against her . It shows that they have clearer probability rather than the men who always look to them as trifle searchers

Jacobs attempted to take control of her self by seeking opportunity for escape and fight for her sense of individuality . Even if her slaves continue to look at her as nothing but a slave , she took at as a dignifying sense to strengthen her character and knowledge . She makes sure that before she goes out from the storage room that she had hidden for seven years , she is already prepared and strong enough to face everyone despite of their meaningless deprivation against her . Through this , it was seen that she made a way to claim her personality that once took away from her
3 . In Washington Irving 's story entitled Rip Van Winkle ' the narrator showed that personal matters are more important than politics The narrator of the story established the life and beings of the main character . He lived in a simple but happy life . He had a wonderful farm but he could not nurture it . Because of this , his father always beat him but despite of it all , he is still happy and contented . This representation showed that a simple and meaningful life away from political afflictions brings happy moments in a...
