of these trials , Jesus Christ was condemned and denounced for claiming that he is a king and is the Son of God . He was condemned as a blasphemer as he professed that he is the Messiah and the savior of the people . When he first arrived in Jerusalem , he was welcomed in the City . During his stay in the City , he performed numerous miracles as he cured a lot of sick people , gave food to the hungry , and gave counsel and imparted teachings to the people . The works of Jesus Christ alarmed the Jewish Council and soon thereafter , he was examined and investigated upon . He was then charged claiming that he is a Messiah and that he is a king . It was due to this examination of the works of Jesus that he was brought to different trials , which eventually led to his crucifixion During all of the trials that Jesus Christ has gone through , his faith in God the Father never wavered . Despite the condemnation and humiliation he publicly experienced in all of these trials which could be considered as unjust , he remained a faithful servant and son to God
First Trial
Trial before Annas
Annas was a powerful influence at that time in Jerusalem , as he was a former high priest . Jesus Christ was brought before him for examination as regards the charges that had been brought against him . It was decided that before Jesus could be presented to the Jewish High Council , he must first be delivered to Annas in that Annas could voice out his initial findings as regards the fault of Jesus . Thus , after Jesus Christ was arrested he was taken to the place of Annas for investigation
The trial before Annas took place at his private lodgings , in which Caiaphas may or may not have participated . Annas , the father-in-law of Caiaphas , had been high priest between years 7 and 14 , and following him at intervals , five of his sons and his son-in-law held office . He wielded a powerful influence , and was regarded as high priest emeritus In this case he was consulted that he might render a preliminary opinion to establish the nature of the accusations which should be ratified by the Sanhedrin in a formal meeting on the following morning
