Dear Sir

As counselor for Michael who has been placed under the counseling as part of his conviction , I have formulated a number of questions to guide in his assessment . I would like to submit for your inspection and would like to request your insights or inputs on the questions and corresponding rationale that I have formulated for the client . The questions and rationale are as follows

Has these changes affected your life goals , prospects or perspectives To assess whether the conviction has affected long-term scenarios of the client

What factors do you believe contributed to the circumstances of your conviction To establish with the client the unique conditions or motivations contributing to the crime (Sue and Sue , 2002

What conditions do you believe should be changed to decrease the incidence of similar crimes ? Based on the study of Murry and her associates (2006 , this is to establish the external conditions the client sees as directly related to his crime

Are there specific tasks or skills that you believe counseling services can provide you at this time ? To establish the professional relationship between the client and counselor as well as creating a foundation for treatment

What do you believe is the responsibility of counseling services in these treatments or programs ? To gauge the level of responsibility attribution that the client has for counseling and treatment for rehabilitation (Edd et al , 2005

What do you believe is your responsibility with respect to these treatments or programs ? Based on the studies conducted by the UK 's National Health Services (1999 , this can reinforce to clients the collaborative relationships in treatment

What approach do you feel will be most effective in the program you will undergo ? To create a sense of responsibility regarding their treatment and well-being (Murry et al , 2006

What do you believe are appropriate standards for treatment success This will allow for insight as to the criteria the client may have in terms of overall counseling programs and the value of the said programs

Do you believe that your participation in the program is part of the criminal justice system ? This is to assess the understanding of the client of the purpose of counseling as part of criminal rehabilitation

Do you believe that your participation in the program has a social significance This is to assess the understanding of the client of the purpose of counseling to develop to future social integration

How will your participation in the program affect the perception of your peers , police officers and society To be able to assess and establish to the client positive correlations...
