Transportation Discussion Question

Airlines

The ratification of the law which permits the competitive processes of companies in the airline industry is somewhat a milestone in terms of consumer and market advantages . However , because of this freedom to modify the market many problems have been encountered by the company holders . Considering also the public 's welfare has also been another concern . As a possible resolution , the airline industry should go back to being regulated by the Federal government . This can result to optimum operation standards . With such procedure , airliners will have a centralized department which

can monitor their respective security status . This will somehow prevent future terrorist attacks from happening . As what has happened in the case of the 9 /11 attack , it was very difficult for the federal government to quickly monitor the activities of each airliners . This caused great delays in realizing the gravity of the situation . Uncontrolled air traffic is one primary problem for security measures (Wikipedia , 2007

On the aspect of economic factors , regulation can be very beneficial for airline companies . It would be much easier for the government to control the pricing conditions of the airfare for all industries . This may result to ultimate cost cutting of the companies from expenses in advertisements . Since the public will have a standard option , they can easily purchase tickets according to the set prices . On the part of logistics , the government can assist companies in many aspects of operations . Airline companies can coordinate with the Federal directives as to what market approaches to be implemented . The control over airline management and traffic will provide an efficient way of traveling . Moreover , research methodologies will be available for airline companies . The subsidized data analysis from the government will reduce the burden on the part of the corporations running airliners
