There is much that can be said about the variety of experiences that lead to a new direction in life . This is especially true concerning the experiences that have led to my decision to apply to the University of Connecticut . Many of my goals come specifically from the passion that I have for education . I have found an intense amount of satisfaction from the studies that I have been involved in surrounding the biological sciences . As a student at Westchester Community College (WCC ) I was able to gather the resources to establish a

sound foundation in my future studies . My experience at WCC was full of hard work , and progress . This has prepared me well for the continuation of my education at the University of Connecticut and the challenges that I will find there

This is in stark contrast to the experience that I had at the University of Rhode Island . My educational experience did begin there , and I learned a tremendous amount about myself and my goals , but I am glad that I made the decision to attend WCC so that I could build an appropriate foundation in a good environment . The program was challenging and enriching , but was small enough that I could be coached in areas that needed additional insight . With the increased maturity and understanding that I now have , I am proud to say that my basic needs have not changed . I still need to be coached , just like everyone else . I also still need to receive insight from those that are more knowledgeable . The difference now is that I have the skill assertiveness , and desire to surround myself with individuals that can provide these things

I am prepared and excited to begin my education at the University of Connecticut . The programs , people , and culture contribute to an institution that is highly respected and sought after . I look forward to meeting others that have goals similar to my own , and earning a degree that I can always be proud of...
