For me , the biggest difference our generation has over other significant times in the past is that of mass media and the Internet . Communication was previously very limited to those around you . But now , with the power of the Internet and the rise of telecommunication and technology , you can almost reach anyone from anywhere . I am sure that in 200 years people will be laughing at our advanced technology ' However , I would like to get the message across that this is when it all started Whatever means they have of

transporting information and communication is based on what we have now

In to get this message through , I will break the ten items I put into the time capsule into three categories . The first category consists of things that tell of how we get information and communicate in our time . The first item I would place in the time capsule is a mobile phone . This is an indication that we can reach other people across continents in our time , we are able to do this with something so small you can put it in your pocket . We can also reach anyone without having to use any wires of some sort , which is what people will likely be doing in the future as well . Likewise , I would also put a pocket personal computer inside this time capsule . This would tell people 200 years from now that in our time , we can access information with such a small device . Even if it may seem primitive in the far future , it is something that can be seen as a fundamental form of computing after 200 years

The third thing I would put in the time capsule is one of the travel magazines found in airplanes . Things such as flight routes , flight timetables as well as article features of popular destinations are found in these flight magazines . This is an important source of information in 200 years regarding how we travel across countries . Then , I would put in a computer or technology magazine that gives some of the latest technologies being developed . This will enable people from 200 years ago to see the kind of technologies we used in our time

The second category consists of items that tell of what we communicate with each other . I will include here the latest TV guide magazine . The magazine may seem to be a funny choice for an item that will represent our time . However , television is a big part of our society nowadays Majority of the people spend so much time watching television that a lot of things they know and do are based on what they have see on television . The sixth thing I would put inside this time capsule is an Ipod with the latest music today . I believe that in the future , it will be very easy for them to recapture the data in the Ipod and that this is one way of imparting our music to them . Music...
