In the movie , Seven Years in Tibet , a child was depicted as the Dalai Lama--the most powerful , influential and most revered member of the Tibetan society . He is also considered as a very holy individual because the Tibetans believe that the Dalai Lama is the reincarnation of their god of compassion , Avalokitesvara .
