Howard Gardner 's theory of multiple intelligences is an excellent theory that helps provide a broader scope for educators and researchers in the field of learning to understand how some students struggle in specific content areas while excelling in others . Moreover , this theory proposes that current measurements , such as SAT , GRE , and other standardized tests do not accurately depict intelligence as intelligence is wide in range . extremely useful in helping young students and even older adults understand where their strengths lie This can help career counselors to find jobs that fit individuals more easily , help teachers and professors to design specific curricula based on the different types of intelligences , and help those involved in obtaining education and training to realize that the standardized tests that they have relied upon to gauge their aptitude is not a reliable source .
