Bible critics have point out that there are some accounts in the Bible that contradicts other accounts . The question now has been if these contradictions make the Bible false . Considering he fact that the Bible was written by over a 100 people who lived in different periods and come from different background and used different languages , one can say that these variations can be explained . In this essay , I would be examining two scriptures , exploring its similarities and difference

The first scripture that I would be considering is Peter 's confession

br about Jesus` in the gospels of Luke , Matthew and Mark . Here we see Jesus asking his disciples what people think he is . The similarity in their accounts is that they all gave the same account on the question that Jesus asked them Jesus asked his disciples , But who do you say that I am ? The disciples reply , John the Baptist , Elijah , one of the prophets ' And Peter reply to Jesus , You are the Messiah ' However there are some differences in their accounts . The first difference in the first verses is : In Luke there was no reference to the region of Caesarea Philippi like in Matthew and Mark . Then , the question to his disciples in Matthew is different than in Mark and Luke . The second difference is that at the end of the passage in Luke and Mark , Jesus ed his disciples no to tell anyone that he is the Messiah . On the other hand , in Matthew Jesus blessed Peter and he confesses Peter that he will build his church upon an rock , and then , He ed no to tell anyone that he is the Messiah

The second passage that I would be considering is the Transfiguration of Jesus . There is a difference in the account found in Matthew 17 : 1 , Mark 9 : 2 and Luke 9 :2 . Luke 's account was that Jesus took them to the mountain after 8 days while Matthew and Mark 's accounts said that Jesus took his disciples to a mountain after six days . Apart from this , it should be noted that it was only Luke accounted that Jesus went up the mount to pray . The second difference is that it was only Luke that hinted of Jesus ' death in Jerusalem and that the disciples were sleeping before the transfiguration . In addition this , Mathew and Mark did not account for the exodus of Jesus in their accounts . Also , the account in Matthew 17 :5 , Mark 9 :7 and Luke 9 :34 , there is a dissimilarity in the synoptic . Luke summarizes the transfiguration as a secret between the apostles . Mark describes that the apostles were terrified after they saw Moses and Elijah with Jesus . Luke and Matthew tell us that the apostles were afraid after they heard God telling them that Jesus is his beloved son

The similarity in these three accounts can be seen in the basic content of the transfiguration itself . They all gave the same account of the people in the...
