INTRODUCTION

The texts covers a complete story , the main event being the pronouncements made by Noah upon his children because of how they all handed the issue of him being found naked in his tent . It starts with an introduction to Noah 's family unit and an explanation on how they would eventually re-populate the earth according to the texts . I 'll be looking at relationship as an underlying theme . I 'll be showing how this theme is relevant in the development of the story and

how it relates with the culture , moral , historical and social relevance as well as any other value that is represented . The verses themselves work for two or more contextual considerations . Scriptural interpretation is usually derived by looking at a whole lot of verses as it concerns the of discuss but I 'll be looking at the texts based on their own merit . I 'll be following the story verse by verse or in a collection of verses depending on the meaning that I would like to establish at that given moment

Vs 18 19

The texts opens with an introduction of Noah 's family unit . The relevance of this introduction is on how they would eventually be the ones to populate the whole earth (vs 19 . But another significance of this introductioon is on their of relationship . Shem is first mentioned ( as the first born , and Ham and then Japhet as second and third respectively . This would later come into greater significance as to who did wht and how their father reacted to each

Relationship as a theme is established from the very beginning of the story . That is , they were first introduced as a family . The second being their of hierachy /social relevance . And the third being that it was from the family that a larger future society would come from . That is , the whole future population would have a common source from these three that had a direct link to Noah

OCCUPATION

Vs20

Noah being the father and the head then went to create a social /economic structure from the already existing framework . He did this to maintain that of relationship . He started by creating the first job or economic position that added relevance to his social status . He already had a social status being the father , but in to make it significant enough , there had to be an office (with relevant power assaciated with that hierarchical that would in essence underline its importance . It 's like a typical case of the head of the home being the breadwinner . Before this there was no such position though a substitute would have existed in the ark . But what was obtainable or practical in the ark to underline his position in the relationship of the family could not be directly applied when they came out of the ark
