Teslas inventions and contributions

The Great Nikola Tesla

With seven hundred patents to his name , Nikola Tesla is truly a grand man of science . He invented the telephone repeater , the rotating magnetic field principle , the Tesla Coil transformer , wireless communication , the radio , fluorescent lights , in addition to the speedometer . The man 's inventions are taken for granted by modern society , and yet he continues to have an impact on modern life as we know it (Nikola Tesla : Inventor , Scientist , Electrical Engineer

With his vivid imagination and ingenious way of formulating scientific hypotheses , Tesla was responsible

for ushering in the new age of electrical power . He had seen a demo of the `Gramme dyname ' which was a machine that turned into a generator when operated in a particular direction , and an electric motor when reversed . After seeing this demonstration , the great man of science visualized the rotating magnetic field and followed up his visualization with a plan for an induction motor that would apply the concept . This led to the invention of the electric motor , which happened to be the primary step toward the effective application of what we take for granted as the alternating current . Tesla 's alternating current was understood to be superior to Thomas Edison 's direct current . Tesla explained his process of creative thinking that led him to the inventions that we now take for granted

Before I put a sketch on , the whole idea is worked out mentally . In my mind I

change the construction , make improvements , and even operate the device . Without ever

having drawn a sketch I can give the measurements of all parts to workmen , and when

completed all these parts will fit , just as certainly as though I had made the actual drawings . It

is immaterial to me whether I run my machine in my mind or test it in my shop . The

inventions I have conceived in this way have always worked . In thirty years there has not

been a single exception . My first electric motor , the vacuum wireless light , my turbine engine In to allay fears of the alternating current among the ignorant public , the great man of science set up exhibitions in his own laboratory in New York City to demonstrate the harmlessness of his highly valuable invention . In these exhibitions , the inventor lighted wireless lamps by permitting electricity to flow through his own body He was intrigued with the concept of wireless power transmission . He also conducted experiments on the electrical resonance and a number of lighting systems . As a result of his unique experiments and intuitive thinking process , the following were also invented : the induction motor various kinds of generators as well as transformers , a unique system of alternating current power transmission , in addition to the steam turbine (Chew

Tesla began working on the wireless broadcasting tower in Long Island in the year 1900 . Although the project was later abandoned due to financial constraints , the man continued his great work by working on...
