Tell us about a time when you empowered others

Over the years , I have found myself involved in many activities and events all over my community . While I personally believe that there is no such thing as a free lunch ' and that everything a person has in life must come from hard work and perseverance , I also believe in charity . I believe in helping others who do not have much in life . I believe in helping people regardless of their nation , race or creed . I believe in being a better person so I can best help myself and others around me p

One of the opportunities that I was granted to do this was during the time when I founded a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO ) in my community . Through the years , I had noticed that illiteracy had become a big problem and that it was one of the main problems in society . Upon identifying this , I set out to do what I could to alleviate this situation . With the help of other likeminded individuals , I was able to conduct adult education seminars that aided adults with literacy problems . The success of the project was astounding as almost everyone who approached the NGO was able to read and write

The main success of this was that it soon caught the eye of the public The NGO was featured on national television and soon the children in my community and my country were able to see that there were people who did care and want to make a difference in this world . The policies and aims for the improvement of the welfare of society were featured on this program and I felt extremely proud to have been the one who initiated all of this for my country

This experience of working with those who are less fortunate in life has opened my eyes to the possibilities of pursuing a career that revolves around helping others . I realize that there is a lot that I am grateful for in life and that there is also so much that I can give to others By devoting my life to the service of others I am confident that I can do my part in making the world a better place to live in
