Technology is very much dynamic bringing with it so many complications There are many changes that have occurred because of technological changes . Technology has helped so much in the improvement of (especially ) communication , making the world to be considered as a global village . Dissemination of information from one region to another has become very easy and quick , as compared to the previous times (Williams , Williams Silverstone , 2003 pp 132

The use of television is one such technology that has so much been used to

the extend that a large percentage of the youngsters in the United States have got televisions in their rooms . Television has come out to be very influential among the many communication Medias (McLuhan , 2001 pp 369 . When a person watches a certain episode in the television these images become integrated into a viewers mind , becoming part of life . Therefore , with only this , it can be very possible to tell the period which a person watched a certain episode . It is thus important to note what message that is sent by certain episodes , and what are their motives . Television has been used to depict many positive and at the same time negative values to the people in the society . For instance many of the messages that are carried in the televisions have never shown the equality between men and women , making women always feel being used

Although there are many arguments on what is right and what is wrong on the television , there has been no clear consensus on actually the wrong and the right episodes that especially children should be allowed or not allowed to watch . A lot of things can be learnt in a very short period by watching the television . For instance , a commercial advert that has been carried out in the television for a short period might carry a lot of information , and at the same time have a very big impact on the viewers . Through the television , it is very easy to learn and see what is happening in the other regions of the world while just comfortably sitting in your house or office . Looking at the time spent by viewers on the television screen , this can depict how influential the television is to the lives of people (Bignell , 2004 pp 79

The biggest problem is that children are the ones who watch television for longer hours . There are many different programs that are suitable for kids , but it has to be appreciated that it is not easy at a time to control which programs the kids can watch on televisions . It is not possible for especially young children to differentiate between true stories and fictions . This means that everything the children will watch will assume that it is completely what is happening in the world . With this perspective , the children can be negatively affected by what they watch on television , as according to their understanding , those are normal things that happen in the society (Postman , 1985...
