The training also aims for managing personnel to handle their people effectively Introduction Washington-Jones is in continuing pursuit for excellence . This led the way to Managing Managers , a training retreat for supervisors

, managers and project leaders . The theme for 2006 is teamwork , which is one of the values that Washington-Jones is trying to instill in its workers . The company hopes that the retreat will be a time to unwind , enjoy , and prepare oneself for work
Training Content
I . Roles of a Manager
The manager has two important roles to play : leader and follower . As a leader , the manager must have the skill to make his subordinates follow and listen . This will require sound judgment and human relations principles . In return , a good manager must be a follower . He must have an ear and heart for sound suggestions from his subordinates
II . Corporate Values and Goals
Innovation and creativity - Washington-Jones believes that if workers enjoy their work , they will be inspired to innovate and create . In implementing such , Washington-Jones subscribes to the idea of team dynamics . It is through teamwork that most of the jobs get done , and gets done efficiently
Using this , the company aspires for faster growth and expansion in the next five years of its operations

Software tools are essential parts of business . Washington-Jones encourages its managers to utilize all available applications which can help them accomplish their tasks

Managers form the Operations Department will be granted access to all software and equipment in the Operations Department including s and computers . Tools useful for the Operations Department will be the filing system , conference tools , and echo-training tools

Communication is an important part of any organization . Managers should be well trained on the process of communicating to superiors co-managers , and subordinates . Only through efficient communication can messages be properly transmitted and understood

Managers need motivation , and subordinates need it just as much Managers should always encourage , support , and guide . Subordinates will be able to work better when they know their efforts are appreciated
