Introduction

The teamsters were a group of Americans who had formed a labor union in the United States . They were initially known as the international brotherhood of teamsters , and were the largest union known by then . The origin of their name was believed to be from a person who used to drive a team of oxen , or mule train , and they adopted this which also reflected their logo and name . Many constituencies were united from this movement

The teamsters came out as a way of incorporating change after several years had passed with single movements , and politics of identity in the country , and now they felt the need of coming together with a common global goal . They started active politics which went together with political movements of the century , which included : environmental interest groups , anti-globalization forces , and initiatives on peace movement . The associated press reported that , the group had plans to incorporate Barrack Obama in the movement . Many unions never survived during the 21st century , but the teamsters proved to be adaptive and have stood to address the needs of its workers as well as those of the members . All they wanted was , fair pay , job security , better health care , safe work places , secure retirement , and humble time to sit with their friends and family members . The teamsters started by organizing truck drivers and workers in warehouse , and they ended up holding strikes This involved 10 ,000 affiliated workers , plus 35 ,000 trades ' men , and several deaths occurred . By 1949 , membership had increased , and by 1957 they were a popular union . They continued working and fighting for their rights as a powerful entity , and today they are a house united ' They are still focused on improving the families of the working families of the northern Americans . They are actually reaching out to sisters and brothers all over the globe , in to see to it that they all move to common adversaries .
