Teaching Hyperstudio to Department of Defense Civilians and Soldiers For Use in Instruction

Abstract

Technology based instruction is one of the most prevalent research . The purpose of this thesis is to emphasize the importance of technology especially Hyperstudio based instruction in Department of Defense . The Tactical Personnel System being an automated tactical strength management system can have its utility extended with the use of Hyperstudio . The method applied for studying the requires a formative evaluation with focus to create a comprehensible program that could support the feasibility if multimedia based interactive systems being used for instructional process . The methodology requires qualitative analysis of

survey with volunteers and option that would clearly state that the participants are civilians or a part of the defense department The summative evaluation which has been visualized as a very controlled treatment is expected to generate a final judgment on the issue of technology based instruction while undertaking all possibilities that are related the successful implementation of technology based instruction system . Thus , the final outcome would finally lead to the assumption those cognitive aspects of the issue of instruction in the DOD and how the same can be provided a solution through the use of technology

Background

The Tactical Personnel System is an automated tactical strength management system that provides the field with an application feasibility of serving as a deployment-manifesting platform for all personnel ranging from military , civilians Department of Defense Federal , non-DOD Federal , Contractors , to Foreign Nationals . Using the HyperStudio software , purpose of TPS could be solved better with the use of technology and media effectively for communication and presentation skills

Interaction and presentation with effective communication ability is a very critical part of any military operation . Cohesiveness in the unit among troops is the most important strategy during every phase of an operation and the very responsibility of the same falls on the military commanders . The use of TPS based training helps in maintaining the required viscidity . The training process needs to be the most effective one and hyperstudio has been found to be of great usage enabling another thrust to evolve the training from simple computer-based programs to more complex but elaborated systems

The current technique of TPS training is ineffective with reason being the submissive doctrine according to which soldiers should learn without proper real time experience through on-field training (US Dept , Dept . of Defense Dictionary , 2005 . The lack of any standardized training and related instructions of a skill in the military has actually developed a situation where the military depends on passive technology instead of proper field training
