Teaching Art to elementary students Introduction to creativity The origin of the word creativity comes from the Latin word `creatus ' which means `to have grown . Creativity involves the production of novel and useful creative work irrespective of the field of creation . A creative person should have imaginative power and should be capable of producing the imagination into reality . Creativity is possible in all areas of human activity , including the arts and sciences , at work and at play , and in all other areas of daily life . All people possess creative ability . Creative impulse can move anyone . Some people more creative than others Creativity depends on the personal intelligence . The people who are more inclined towards producing useful ideas are more likely to invent creative things . Creativity is innate There is no formal schooling for creativity . Creativity is the innate quality which is possessed by one and all . Exposure and exploration relies on the various factors . Creativity is the result of intrinsic motivation . The task motivation of a person is specific to particular task and has baseline attitude towards the task determined by appraisal and perceptions for motivation for understanding the task largely determined by external social and environmental factors . There is always a role of situational factors in the production of creative solutions . Creativity , criticism and evaluation Creativity is always referred to in positive terms . Criticism and evaluation of a particular act or result of creativity improves the degree of performance . Creative person often overlooks or neglects things which may not be suitable for the particular creation . The role of critics plays important in such cases and may result in producing a non-comparable and more appealing creation . Expression of creativity is a must Expression of creativity should be appreciated and encouraged . Creativity is not the booty of few . Creativity is fundamentally a matter of practice , what we do and how we do , with whatever... |
