INTRODUCTION
The company E 60 was started as a family business . It deals in music memorabilia . It was in 2000 that they decided to have Managing Director of the company . They have three departments Operations , Marketing and Finance . Senior management team of directors for each of these departments again heads them
Most of the companies work is dependent on the telephone and post . All the s are either taken by telephone or by post . There are in 25 employees , where five of them are temporary
The company has a short product range therefore they thought about putting them into a catalogue . Thus , they never expanded in their product line . Another reason for them to stay behind in the competitive market is that , now so many companies are having their business through Internet , whereas , E-60 does not have any such facility
They still rely on telephone , and have very little automation . For example , they just depend on technology as far as invoice generation or report generation is concern , rest of their work is more or less mandatory in nature . They keep s with the same repetitive data . All these activities lead to more time consumption , hence , delay in delivery and contrary to that delay in receiving payments
Two departments are actually doing the repetitive job . For example , both administrative department and finance department are generating invoices . They deal with billing for customers , including collection of payments , wages and salaries of employees and other
Again the personnel departments works is coinciding with that of finance department , they both are generating payroll . Personnel department also do recruitment
Then come the marketing department whose function is to look after the customer 's side . They basically work for image building of the company and its product . They also help in product development . All the enquiries coming regarding the product are taken care of by them across country enquires like those coming from Europe , suggested them for the expansion of the business and product lie , and also launching new advertising tools . But their functional are so wide that they do not able to manage everything properly and usually fail . They require either more work forces or also a proper coordination with the administrative department
The major downfall with the company is that they need coordination amongst all the departments . This is what they are unable to achieve
