Three Tall Women I . An Analysis on the Play Character A In the light of Act One , A , already in her 92 , has felt the forces of nature against her . She has felt her weakness and frailness that she could hardly move or do things on her own . Bringing to mind back her younger days , she has felt helpless as she has come to the age where B has to come to her aid , where the care of B has been the source of her strength . A could hardly go to the

bathroom by herself along , A could hardly go back to bed alone , A could hardly sit down by herself alone Despite this situation , B , although coming to the aid of A , has kept on pressing humor and ridicule upon A . A though has reacted with pain as reality bites her up
At her age , dementia has set in . Nevertheless , she has recalled her younger days when she used to long for happy days in her life . Yet , she remembered how painful it was to have married a man she did not love and a son who abandoned her away . At the peak of her life , she has never forgotten how her yearnings for happiness has all turned to sour . She has lost her son , who left her as he could hardly bear the attitude of her mother towards him - her mother who have not accepted her sexual preferences , her mother who have abhorred her predilection in life Finally , she has come to realize how regretful it was to have treated her son with bigotry . She felt the loneliness of her life
Her frail body has finally given up during the later part of the scene She had comatose . At this point in her life , her son has come back , but it was too late , kneeling down in her bedside without saying anything
Character B
In the light of Act One , B , a middle-aged woman was the caretaker of A She has been the source of physical strength of A . B has devoted her patience in taking care of A who has come to know of the attitude of A and has able to bear with it . She throws humorous statements upon A statements bearing the element of sourness . B responds without further question to the needs of A although she does not really enjoy the company of A . yet , with the perseverance of B , she has learned a lot from A . along the lines of A when A has recalled the memories of herself , B shared with A the same sentiments . Nevertheless , B , as caretaker , has never stopped longing for the true happiness of her life
In the Second Part of the Play , A , in her 52 , has been depicted by B depicting the midlife of A . she has come to realize her outlooks and perspectives in life , and yet wonder how she has come to feel that she has been worn-out . She had tried to bring back...
