Introduction

Globalization has brought for fundamental changes wherein frameworks are being established and reference points are being displaced . Changes in the world 's condition enables identification of zones of peace and war as dictated by an international governing system . Thus a mutual aid between the countries in the North-South relations becomes necessary

The September 11 bombing had made a great impact in the lives of those living in the States and around the globe as well . Some could still recall the vivid scenario at that time the plane

collided with the building . Nobody was prepared for that . It had shown how a great country like America could be the target of a heinous crime . Since this incident , US government had modified their rules and laws to make sure that it will never be repeated . They have even resorted in going out on war with some countries when they deem necessary . Some of the actions that the Congress has done are passing the Anti-terrorism Bill , the Aviation and Transportation Security Act , and freezing the account of Al Barakaat and Al Taqwa that are suspected to give financial aid to terrorists

The Anti-terrorism Bill was passed last September 19 , 2001 and October of the same year the Congress has passed the bill and it was signed by the President . This bill defines how they would handle terrorists and if ever , the attacks that would be made by the enemies In the Anti-terrorism bill , they detailed how they plan to intercept and obstruct terrorism in the United States of America (York , 2001

The Aviation and Transportation Security Act was passed by the Congress last November 16 , 2001 . Since the 9 /11 tragedy was brought upon by an airplane crashing in the World Trade Center , they have tightened the security and provided rules in this act on how airport security personnel and air marshals must do their work (York , 2001

Airplanes are the main transportation that most foreigners used to come or visit the United States of America . In lieu with this reason , the aviation security in all airport are supposed to be as strict as possible as they are the gateway

Aviation security is responsible in making sure that everyone and everything is screened thoroughly . The passengers and aircrafts are equally important as upholding the national interests of the country . It would be difficult if these security officers rely solely on their human skill that is why screening devices and operations are given to aid them in their task

Despite the fact that security measures are tightened , the rate of terrorist attacks on aviation is still quite in an alarming percentage (Wilkinson and Jenkins , 1999 . This would mean that there is still a lot of room for improvement that needs to be covered in the shortest time possible
