Transnational crime remains one of the most serious issues in present day criminology . Professionals and scholars work to develop effective practical strategic solutions that would help countries combat transnational crime complexities . Eradicating transnational crime requires developing closely cooperated criminal justice and law enforcement networks that would develop and implement universal legal principles and would involve all countries into the process of reducing international crime threats

Professionals and scholars work to develop effective practical strategic solutions that would help countries combat transnational crime complexities . Unfortunately , there is no single definition of transnational crime , but researchers tend to believe that it is a crime that includes offenses whose inception , prevention and /or direct effects involve more than one country (CRS , 2006 . The most widely spread forms of transnational crime include nuclear smuggling , drug trafficking , human trafficking , intellectual property crimes and money laundering (CRS , 2006 . While the majority of networks and groups involved into transnational crimes originate from the countries with weak legal systems and low economic opportunities , the U .S . remains the leader in the amount of strategies developed and implemented to address transnational criminal issues . In 1998 , the International Crime Control Strategy was released to frame the major policies , to target numerous transnational crime goals , to integrate the efforts of numerous international agencies , and to promote effective responses to international crime
