Along with its energy capabilities and its huge industrial potential , Texas is a state with unique and complex political environment . Moreover , it is a state from where

many recent presidents came out . Recently , solid one-party Democratic Texas has been displaced by a more competitive two-party system . Yet , the party pendulum is currently swinging away from a two-party center back towards a one-party periphery . This time around it is the Republicans with the momentum : heading into the 21st Century , the Republicans are now the majority party in Texas .
