Survey
NAME PROFESSOR SUBJECT DATE Mobile Phone Survey The purpose of this study is to look into some relative factors which predict the preference attitude of people towards purchasing a mobile phone unit . In to specifically obtain a conclusive inference , the hypothesis whether there is a significant relationship between mobile phone preference and brand features will be tested For the study , the main sample population will be the parameter of the youth aged 12 to 25 who owns a mobile phone . The sampling frame to be used is the

directory of students in a secondary school who are currently enrolled . The of selection for the survey will be conducted using the principle of random sampling technique . To be more specific , a stratified random sampling procedure will be conducted using the grade levels of the students as the strata . A constant number of students will be drawn randomly from each grade level . A pre-survey will be conducted in to identify whether the randomly selected individuals own a cell phone . If not , a new name will be randomly selected until all of the collected respondents fall in the parameter of the population who owns a cellular phone . These students will then be included in the general sample space for the survey
In to have a non-biased survey , a random sampling technique would be the best procedure in obtaining the respondents since the ultimate goal is to perform an analysis on a data . Random sampling gives each element in the population an equal chance to be included in the survey (Australian Bureau of Statistics 1 . Preferably , a statistical approach in interpreting data is ideal when the data comes from a normally distributed population which the random sampling technique could provide . Many statistical tests become reliable if the data is normally distributed (Lane 1 . If the respondents will not be randomly selected , the possible effects on the conclusion of any analyses might be compromised for there would probably be a trend in the data values which will make it unreliable
After the desired number of respondents is obtained , the actual design of the survey procedure will be initiated . The main procedure is to have a group administered survey . For particular time frames , the survey will be administered per class . This procedure is ideal since the researches can save time and effort instead of looking for the drawn respondents one at a time . Also , this can at least adhere to the notion of privacy since sending electronic mails or conducting phone interviews may violate the privacy rights of a student . If in the event a particular respondent is not able to take part in a group or class survey , he may be requested to provide a phone number or an e-mail so he can still take part in the activity even at a later time
Non-response is always a part of any surveys . For this matter , if a student is not willing to take part in the survey , the researcher will mark...
