A team is basically an important work unit that has been assigned to carry out a specific function . A team is comprised of individual who have been assigned a particular duty to carry out . A team is the most important unit in the world place in the sense it helps achievement of work goals . In a team individuals do not work alone but they work together to achieve the set target or the set goal . Teams are increasingly becoming important workplace units following the recent trends in human

resource management . The current HR management has moved from focusing on the individual performance to focus more on team performance . Therefore individual performance is sometimes not being gauged according to how well they can accomplish duties alone but how effective they are when working as a team . Therefore team performance has become an integral part of the work process that is ensuring that there is effective performance at the work place

Teams call for collaborative efforts of all those who are involved in the team work . Therefore the important place that these teams occupy in the work place performance cannot be downplayed . Team work performance has become an important consideration of any management that is focused on reaching the goals of the organization (Welch and Byrne , 2001 ,

The forming process is the most important process in ensuring effective teamwork . The forming process includes the effective steps which ensure that there is selection of the members who are going to be included in the team work .
