Summary of Salvation by Langston Hughes

In this book titled Salvation ' the writer Langston Hughes talks about his own decisions at church that basically reflect his natural behavior towards his religion . The worshippers want him to go up and get saved just as if he has seen some Holy Spirit . Therefore , he decided to lie and say that he has seen the light of the Holy Spirit and that Jesus had actually come

. However , Langston 's disregarded personal belief in to meet the level of obedience that the worshippers laid out . It is believed that the people may believe in an idea but will disregard that belief to be obedient . This can further be proved by the fact that one time or the other one has to overlook their feelings about something

Langston wanted to see Jesus and earn salvation however he was really disappointed when he could not see Jesus and everyone else could Therefore , to save himself , he just pretended that he saw Jesus because if he wouldn 't have done this he would have been rejected and would be unable to everyone . However , faith is not based on whether we get want we want or not

He waited for long for Jesus to come and he believed that He would come because he has asked Him to but he was not ready to trust God as He did...
