For the purpose of the study , the researchers obtained website data by coding features of the websites . They also conducted telephone interviews of 15 technology and communications professionals from different unions . The results were studies and the authors found that only a very small proportion of the websites devoted content to office-holder issues , which was consistent with the findings of the earlier study . However , 89 of the websites devoted substantial content to members ' issues , recognizing the benefits of IT in reaching members and providing them with better service .
