The City of God `The City of God ' by Augustine is the Augustine is opposing the pagan for their thoughts toward Christian religion . In A .D . 401 Vandal captured the city of god (Rome ) which made Romans to think that Christian god had failed to save Rome . The People at that time started thinking in which religion they have to believe . So to show them right path Augustine wrote the city of god . In first book he opposed the pagan 's claims against Christian religion and emphasized that trouble comes in everyone 's

life . In Second book he explained that fall of Rome is not first time in human history . Even during the old gods times Roman 's were suffering from misfortune and those gods also did not help them from these disaster . In Third book he also discussed last mishappening during Pagan 's times for to change their thinking of Christian religion , the cause of the Roman fall . In fourth book Augustine suggests Rome endured for many centuries because of true god 's will and not it related to any pagan 's god . In fifth book he diplomatically states the pagan nation of fate which helped to get empire 's faith . He wrote next five book to contradict those who said they will gain eternal life when they worship the old gods . He had also used Pagan author who said old gods are never helpful in eternal happiness . In next books he describes the feeling of two cities one earthly and other heavenly . Also stress on the concept that happiness established in heavenly city can also occur here on earth . In Second last book he describes endless punishment of the unluckiness , proving that it is not a myth . In final book he showed the end of the city of god , after which rescued will be given endless happiness and will become holy
The Gospel According to Mark
The Gospel of Mark narrates of John the Baptist who forecast the coming of Jesus and He is recognized as the son the Holy Spirit . Now Jesus went to Galilee in Israel . During this travel Simon , Andrew , James and John become his followers . Jesus displays his authority by cleansing a leper heals a paralytic , Simon 's sick mother-in-law and a man with a withered hand . Mark says that even wind and sea obey him ' He calms a storm relieved a man harassed by devil , and awakened a dead young girl Through a miracle , Jesus divides five pieces of bread and two fish and feed all 5 ,000 people . So the miracle stories are expanding longer and more amplified , enhancing the power of Jesus authority . The Pharisees who are upset at Jesus giving up of the ritual Jewish laws , question Jesus . He focused to follow the spirit of the law rather than following the technical actions that the laws reject . Jesus travels Palestine and Jerusalem .
