As in the Christmas holiday for the Christians , the Jewish people celebrate Sukkot . It may be considered as the counterpart of Thanksgiving Day in their religion

It means the Feast of Tabernacles from the experience the Israelites had in their travel to the promise land where they had to live in temporary home or tabernacles .
