In developing countries it isn 't the size of SMEs but their isolation and access to the market including lack of information and access to capital institutions which is significant . The local SMEs are facing many

problems , such as lack of funds and credit , unfriendly environment and red tape that do not allow them to grow and function properly . All these factors make the study of SMEs in Saudi Arabia more important . There are often cosmetic solutions presented to instill growth , however such interventions have proved futile as no involvement can succeed without the active support of the people managing the business . Thus the study is considered significant for the overall growth , even spread and development of the Saudi economy in the years to come
