Running Head : STUDENT-ATHLETES AND ACADEMIC CORRUPTION It is a widely known fact that there is a lot of corruption in the academic circles when it comes to athletics . This is not only in the colleges but at times it starts from high school and the behavior is extended to college . In this the issues that lead to the corruption will be discussed alongside the examples of corruption found in schools . At the end of the discussion , there will be recommendations of how to curb the

problem discussed with the attempts in place to solve the problem . Also the problems and opposition they have encountered since their implementation

The attitude that the rest of the school has towards the students who participate in athletics will also be put into perspective especially the faculty where one finds that the professors are not aware of these particular students . Their attitude and how it affects the students is important in to understand how the students themselves view themselves in comparison to the other students . This will even include the special terms that are used to refer to them for example `student-athlete ' which leads to an identity crisis . The students are not classified as students or athletes instead are seen as people who do not qualify to be either and are hence not treated with as much care as the other students are
