For the sake of introduction I would first like to summarize the above case and then proceed to deciphering strategies most suited for it . The case consists of a family owned restaurant business which was initially started by the father of the family in his local neighborhood where he people were familiar with him . At present the restaurant has spread to four chains though all are in the same neighborhood of St . Louis

In the past it seems , Joe Marconi (owner and

starter of business ) was the sole beneficiary of the business and was satisfied with its state of profitability but now his four children (Little Joe , Jonny , Tony and Maria ) all take part in running the business and feel that to accommodate them the business needs to expand . Among the four children only one , Maria has been to college and has done her MBA

Papa Joe now is semi-retired and the chairman of the board of GIFO (Great Italian Food Company ) and business it seems has been transferred over to the younger generation . It is more essential now than ever before that the company have one strategic plan outlining the its mission , vision and business plan for the future

Its importance is highlighted more because previously Joe was just one person ultimately making the decision and deciding the future of the company but now there are many heads and each head interprets and reasons everything differently . The company needs to...
