Background of the Study

The context of strategic management is an approach of specifying the objectives of the industries , policy and planning development to attain these objectives , and strategic allocation of resources in to execute the plans . In addition , it presents the entire direction to the whole industry (Abell , 1999 . Strategic management can be regarded as a set of theories and models which are

specifically designed to interpret and explain the factors the underlies the performance of industries and to assist managers in line with thinking , planning as well as acting strategically (Campbell , Evans Stonehouse , 2002

Each industry is entitled to choose the most suitable strategic management system approach or the so called strategic choice Accordingly , the strategy chosen by the management is guiding an industry relative to opportunities and challenges appearing in the business environment (Pearce Robinson , 2000 . The strategic choice of each and every industry is responsible for maintaining the strength as well as the survival in the challenging environment and in times of financial crisis .
