We know that the dead lady , Mrs . Louise Mallard has a history of heart problems . With that information taken into consideration , the sudden news that her beloved husband is already had to broken in a gentle manner to her . Before the lady was dead , she was with two persons namely Josephine , her sister , and a guy named Richard who was his husband 's friend . Josephine had delivered the sad news about her husband . . Mallard heard the sad news , she cried terribly . First she cried in front of Josephine and Richard , at Josephine 's shoulders to be exact Then perhaps overwhelmed by the sad news , she ran to her room and had locked her self . It took some time for Josephine to convince Mrs Mallard to go outside the room , but she did eventually . Then the unexpected happened , her husband was still alive . The shock might have caused the heart attack

The cause of death of Mrs . Louise Mallard is definitely the horror of seeing her husband again . There might be a conflict with the doctors that have claimed that she had suffered her heart disease because of the joy that kills ' which will be explained as we go on . What really happened there was an overload of emotion that in the case of Mrs Louise Mallard was too much to handle . A death of a love one is already too much to bear for any individual that has a heart , especially for those with heart problems . It is also not good for anyone with a heart problem to be too happy . Now add to that the shock of the thought of seeing a ghost . Mrs . Louise Mallard may have thought that she had seen a ghost when Mr . Brently Mallard had walked in their house

It is definitely not joy that had killed Mrs . Louise Mallard , it is definitely something else because her joy might have actually saved her through calming her . She was shocked with the discovery that her husband was still alive because she believes in the metaphysical . She stated a line that suggests this Free ! Body and Soul free (Chopin ) She even talked a metaphysical being in the line She breathed a quick prayer that life might be long ' She believed that souls of the dead can 't walk the face of the earth unless they are ghosts . That is what most of us are made to believe by teachings from our religions and the people from our surroundings . This is something that the doctors who had claimed that she had suffered her heart disease because of the joy that kills ' Because doctors live by the scientific , by the things that can be proven only by experiments and tests

In addition to that Mrs . Louise Mallard and Mr . Brently Mallard may had some disputes on their marriage in the past as suggested by the line and yet she had loved him...
