Schools of philosophy have been an important source of the modern philosophical thinking in the sense that they have provided us with different life perspectives . Stoicism is one of the earliest schools of philosophy . Stoicism was founded on the third century BC in Athens and one of the main founders was Zeon of Citium . Their main concern was the relationship that existed between cosmic determinism and human freedom and they upheld a belief that maintenance of will in reference to nature
