The role of central tendency is a factor in the daily lives of all individuals . Reading articles that discuss the average of a circumstance , or the labels on food that gives the average number of vitamins and minerals are but two examples of central tendency . What is central tendency ? It is the clustering of data that is explained with one of three types of central tendency (Aron , Aron Coups , 2006 central tendency , 2009 . The first is

For the purpose of showing how each of the central tendencies work this essay will be using a data set based on grades in a class . The data set will be grades of 72 , 74 , 75 , 78 , 78 , 81 , 82 , 83 , 83 , 83 97 Using the mean equation the sum of this data set is 886 . When divided by 11 the mean or average is 81 .
