Statictical Analysis

INTRODUCTION

The mission of American Intellectual Union (AIU ) is to keep all of its customers satisfied , both external and internal . As stated in company policy , periodic surveys will be conducted to determine the level of job satisfaction , or dissatisfaction , of internal customers , i .e . employees followed by a study to determine ways to increase employee job satisfaction . The following paragraphs will present in detail some of the findings of the first section of employees to be surveyed . The data selected will be broken down by gender , years on the job , percent of

br be broken down into mean and median to create an overall picture of the sector . Mode , deviation , and standard deviation do not apply to this study as the segment studied is very small

DATA SELECTED

The data selected for the first part of this survey included Males and Females over the age of 50 years , currently filling salaried administrative positions . The data is broken down into six sub categories : Those who have been employed less than two years , from two to five years , and over five years . The second set of data also included Males and Females in the same job categories and with the same breakdown of years-on-the-job , however , the concentration at this time was on employees between the ages of 22 and 49

DISCUSSION

This , however , is a somewhat misleading figure since there is only one male in that capacity . Taking a look at the mean and median scores of those who have been in the position less than two years , men still expressed a slightly higher degree of job satisfaction with a average score of 3 .9 and a median of 3 .8 versus the female scores of 3 .44 and 3 .8 respectively . There are no females in the two to five year category , and once again in the over five year group , with one individual representing each of the genders the males rank 5 .4 mean and median whereas the females 4 .4 mean and median

The intrinsic and extrinsic values placed on job satisfaction ran approximately the same with males expressing a higher level of job satisfaction in both areas than do the females . Intrinsic values are defined as those values which make the job appealing , such as the degree of pleasure derived from doing the specific tasks required of the job compatibility with co-workers and comfort in assigned work area Extrinsic values are those which affect the job but are...
