Even prior to obtaining my Bachelor 's degree in Information Systems at the University of Phoenix , I was already building my career in the information technology industry as an IT specialist handling hardware systems management . While initially focused on technical administration my career progressed gradually into business systems analysis and management which was why I had decided to take up and complete an Information Systems degree . In my experience in the field of business , I was exposed to the intricacies of conducting market research and assessing current and future business trends . My

interest in this area grew so much that I am now working as a business systems analyst and project manager in a dynamic company where many significant events usually happen all at once . This was where I came to realize that if I was to succeed in this new area of occupation , I would need to be equipped with the correct body of formal knowledge that it required This was the reason why I d my application for a graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA

My specific goals in taking up an MBA can be divided into three objectives . The first is to gain a formal comprehension of business practices as an independent body of practical knowledge . While the evolution of my career has granted me a lot of experience in handling business-related situations , much of the actions that I 've committed during these endeavors were owed to good instinct and sound advice from my work mentors and superiors . Although I have learned a great deal of knowledge while on the job , I am certain that there are so many other opportunities and challenges that I may yet face without appropriate preparation . The knowledge that I will gain as I pursue my MBA will make me ready for such situations , equipping me with contemporary techniques in business that I would otherwise be without My second objective is to make a seamless synthesis between my current expertise and a strong foundation in business management . Having started my own IT services company , it is important that I am well versed not only in the technical aspect of my venture but in the business aspect as well . In an industry as competitive as information technology , any entrepreneur would agree that it takes more than efficient service to be on top simply because most of one 's competitors also offer efficient service . The success of my business depends on sound decision making skills that can be honed through proper education

Finally , my third objective is to make connections and set up linkages with other professionals and entrepreneurs for mutual benefit . The academic atmosphere in an MBA class goes well beyond theories and more into practical knowledge . Part of this practical knowledge is knowing about each other and how each others ' expertise can benefit everyone else . I aim to build professional relationships with my classmates that would serve both our ends in achieving success
