State and Politics in North Africa
_State and Politics in North Africa NORTH AFRICA : NON-ISLAMIC OPPOSITION MOVEMENTS Introduction , The Nature of Opposition , Regime and Opposition ,Leadership and Political Culture , The Alternatives and The Future North Africa 's political opposition mirrors those in the western part of the world wherein the system of politics is in full democracy freedom of speech is experienced , an agreement for political debate is also recognized and where the legal system is separated from the government and constitution . Political Opposition parties are only vying for the control of power but their counterparts

on the other hand is outside the confines of expression legally permitted by the state or they depend on state license in for them to exist . North Africa and Morocco are experiencing this case . Democratic governance really evolves and Those political processes operated by the current regimes are also affected even thought there are claims on democratic governance wherein the truth is very unlikely from what democratic ideal is
One result of this situation is that the strict demarcation between formal political parties and
other political actors within civil society (Hann 1996 ,
.26 ) that operates inside the democracy of political system is not really applied in North Africa . The nature of opposition is where different parties operates the legislative branch and the electoral process provides government the personnel and other political actors are confined in the arena of civil society . North Africa 's actors are specified when it comes to their role in politics varying directly or indirectly when it comes to their influences when it comes to legislation and other related legislative processes . Their influence on the electoral process can be affected and cannot be affected also , rather than control , the executive even when the actual government is subordinate to the
hidden control of an unaccountable regime
This is considered to be important because the political opposition 's purpose being one aspect of legal political competition in terms of power in gaining access to establish authority and power is changed and already enabled changes in the state 's structure . in other words , those political parties in North Africa has a tendency to cooperate with the government in to provide services even if they are expected to oppose it being part of the political opposition . Contingency and Flexibility makes the political opposition hard to define because they cannot be distinguished easily as to whether they are pro or anti-government
Political Opposition in North Africa is in reality forced to a process of real or potential competition unless it is
marginalized into extra-legal action and clandestinity . This raises the question of whether
there is , or indeed can be , such a category as genuine legitimate political opposition ' in
North Africa or , rather , whether such a category has meaning . The short answer is that there
is not and cannot be a meaningful category of this type until elements of genuine democratic governance are established there
We can view a more concise scenario of these by taking two events from Morocco...
