The book that has been taken under consideration goes by the name of Sula and has been written by Tony Morrison . The book presents to the readers the points of views of

a vast number of characters , and it basically makes available a many-sided representation of a group of people and , surrounded by it , a companionship . Through the book the author has tried to put up with false notion , the position of women in black civilization , the negative effects of combat , inheritance , and the gray areas of ethics and awareness that do not make it any easier for the foregoing to be explained . It has been proved through all of the work presented by the author of this book that she should be considered as one of America 's leading authors , a novelist who can depict numerous echelons of even the simplest schemes

Background

In the book that has been presented to us by the name of Sula , written by Toni Morrison we get to experience the existence of Sula Peace all the way through her babyhood back in the twenties till the time that she dies in the year 1941 . The work of fiction is based around the black neighborhood in Medallion , particularly what is called "the bottom . By going through the book we get to read about the life of Sula herself and the life of people who used to live in the bottom and by this we get to realize the ways in which family units and groups of people can form an identity of a child . What is more is that through Sula we learn that these factors do affect the ways in which a community perceives a person who faces up to the very surroundings that shaped them . But another aspect that has been presented in the book is that of the weakness of white men and how a woman of a black background used them for her own pleasure . It proves to us just how a woman can make use of her flamboyance to take control of the body of a man just as Sula did . But by the end of the story , the power of men is restored and Sula gets to realize that a woman without a man is incomplete

Analysis

All of the actions that are taken up by Sula as well as a great part of her character can be said to be an undeviating consequence of her upbringing that had taken place in the bottom . Sula 's distinctiveness contains a vast number of factors that are usually present in a strapping , self-determining feminist personality .
