Section 1 : Most Vivid Impression

Perhaps the most memorable scene in the movie was the one wherein Lt Dunbar befriended with the wolf which he called Two Socks . It was memorable in the sense that this event led to his gaining the name Dances with Wolves . For someone who has not watched the movie , the origin of the movie title would be a guessing game and would be difficult to imagine . It could be interpreted as something proverbial as someone interacting with people with wolf-like behaviors . Nobody

br would ever guess that the title itself is an Indian name given to a person who displayed exemplary courage and determination because nobody normally ever plays or dances with a wolf- (Heft . His friendship with the beast was an epitome of being able to co-exist with something usually regarded as frightening if only one knows his real strengths and weaknesses

This extremely courageous characteristic of the main character in the movie is first displayed when he stubbornly refused for his leg to be amputated when he got wounded in the battle against the Confederate forces . His endurance against pain was backed by the determination to save his leg and eventually to save his future from a life of immobility and frustration
