Introduction

Socrates is fairly regarded as one of the most prominent figures in the history of the world philosophy . For many , Socrates stands out as one of the philosophers in the history of mankind . His critical reasoning skills and his continuous quest for the meaning of things have shaped the basis for the subsequent evolution of Western philosophy . It should be noted , that philosophy of Socrates was much different from that of Pre-Socratics in that the latter

could not find enough strength to recognize their own ignorance . This ignorance and unique understanding of knowledge have turned Socrates into a kind of eternal monument to philosophic thinking

Really , it was not before Pre-Socratics that people became interested in the nature of things .
