Scientific approach in studying and understanding Social Reality Social reality can be defined as the accepted social tenets of a community . The study of social phenomenon or norms can be approach from different methods , one of which is the scientific method . A scientific method is essentially an extremely cautious means of building a supportable , evidenced understanding of our natural world The advantages of using the scientific approach are outlined below When samples are taken and experiments are carried out on them , the results gotten from the collated data are well-organized and

The samples examined also serve good representative of others (i .e usually human being ) not examined
More so , proven facts through scientific approach are regular and universal i .e . accepted in other parts of the world , and can be used as a starting point to imagine possible explanations for a phenomenon under study at any other time
Through scientific approach , social scientists have been able to contribute to the understanding of our society
Some of the disadvantages of applying the scientific approach are as follows ? In contrast to natural science phenomena , human behavior is subject to change , making prediction , especially at the individual level , difficult or even impossible ? The observer may be influenced by his own culture especially when the phenomena they study is also related to their social life H
